I rarely/never carry snips, so cutting banding with my hammer claws is my go to. However, this sometime won’t work if the banding isn’t tight, and hacking it straight on with your claws isn’t always a good/approved method. This little makeshift shear method with your hammer and nail puller is a good one to keep in your repertoire when in a pinch. Just make sure to orient the 2 the way I demonstrate or it won’t work.
