Streamers are the least used flies on wild trout streams in the Smokies. Dry flies and nymphs will catch more fish, but streamers can catch larger trout. These will usually be brown trout, which begin to eat other fish when they get to be about 9" long. The best streams to try a streamer should have brown trout, but some rainbows and brook trout will eat them as well.
