Did you know this about daffodils? They’re one of my favorite spring flowers, so much easier to grow than tulips, naturalizing in my zone and also deer and bunny proof (and the bulbs don’t get dug up by squirrels after planting!!)—but often they are scorned in arrangements due to the toxic sticky sap they emit that can kill other flowers. Put them in some water for a few hours though and they drain that sap, making them safe to use as a perfect spring garden flower (especially when combined with

Deadheading daffodils is one of my favorite tasks to do — no snips required, literally just walk around and pop their little heads off. Is this REQUIRED? Not sure. Daffodils do create seed pods so ideally you’d want your daffodils putting all of their energy into next year’s blooms instead of seeds that you don’t want. Yes, you can grow daffodils from seeds — yes it takes like 3 years to bloom and is easiest to grow from bulbs. What about you? Do you deadhead your daffodils? Am I the only one th

Daffodils are one of my FAVORITE bulbs to plant because they’re worry free and super reliable. Deer and other critters leave them alone, and they reliably come back and multiply year after year — it’s a plant that you buy once, and can spread around your garden (and your neighbor’s gardens in the future) If you thought Daffodils were only yellow and boring, think again! Here’s just a few of my favorite varieties that are absolute must-adds to your garden: 🌱Trumpet British Gamble Daffodil🌱 Pink

Did you know that there are 36 species of daffodils and over 26,000 varieties? My father has dozens of daffodil plants in his yard and around their house, and I think I counted 5 or 6 different varieties. I have been harvesting large handfuls of daffodils for a month and a half to enjoy inside and with friends and family. And the crazy part is, you can't even tell! He has SO MANY!! He's already offered to transplant some to our new land next spring, and I can't wait!! What's your favorite spring

Save your pennies for more important things .These potted daffodils may cost 50p more but they last soooo much longer and in my opinion the teeny florets are so much cuter. The bunches of daffs only last a few days whereas these will last weeks & the bonus is you can dig a hole chuck them in & they’ll bloom for years to come! Clare xo | Clare Hooper

If your daffodils are not blooming well this year, there are several things you can do to help them flower better in the future. 🌼 Ensure they were planted at the right depth and spacing in well-draining soil with enough nutrients. 🌼 Make sure your daffodils are getting enough sunlight and water, as well as any necessary fertilizer. 🌼 Check for any signs of pest infestations or diseases, and take appropriate measures to address them. 🌼 Be patient - if they were recently planted, it’s possibl

Daffodils shouldn't be mixed with other flowers in arrangements because they release a sap that is harmful to other flowers. This sap contains alkaloids and other compounds that can inhibit the water uptake of other flowers, causing them to wilt or die more quickly than they otherwise would. The sap is released when the stems are cut and can continue to leach out into the water.🌼 BUT, if you really want to mix daffodils with other flowers, you can condition them first. To do this, cut your daff

When I first started growing flowers I thought all daffodils were the same —big, bright, and school bus yellow. But after visiting a local seventh-generation Dutch flower grower’s farm I was introduced to an entirely new world of specialty daffodils and narcissus and I have been hooked on their beauty ever since. Over the years I have grown hundreds of varieties, searching for the ones with unique colors and scents that are also really good for cutting. Each spring when I share about them I get
