Works along Ryde Pier are coming along nicely! 🛠️ The project is approaching its final phase, with decking, handrails and six shelters being installed along the previously disused tramway. It’s so good to see the Island Line running down Ryde Pier again! 🚅 The railway structure of the pier was built between 1878 and 1880 by Victorian engineers. After nearly 150 years of harsh environmental conditions, which caused parts of the structure to deteriorate, it has needed major refurbishment and repairs.
