Mr. Tommy Duncan is a railroad man if there ever was one! He retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway/Norfolk Southern Corp with 44 years, 4 months, and 4 days of dedicated service. Norfolk & Western Class A giant No. 1226 with a coal drag is caught four times as it heads east to Norfolk. The N&W 1226 is one of fourty-three 2-6-6-4 simple articulated steam locomotives built by the railroad's Roanoke, Virginia shops, from 1936 to 1950. They operated until the late 1950s, when the N&W discontinued steam altogether.
