Jun 12, 2023 · CBP works with the American Council on Education (ACE) College Credit and Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®) to gain college credit recommendations for CBP workplace training programs.

Training Requirements – Both CBP officers and border patrol agents must complete a formal training program upon being hired by the CBP: CBP Officer Basic Training Academy. The CBP Officer Basic Training Academy is located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia.

The CBP Border Patrol Academy provides the initial training program for entering Agents with course topics that include Operations, Firearms, Physical Techniques, Driver Training and the Spanish Language.

All newly hired Border Patrol Agents receive their basic law enforcement skills by attending the Academy. Each Border Patrol Agent trainee must complete a 19-week resident course of instruction in integrated law, physical training, firearms instruction, driving and Spanish.
