The Krewe of Rex parade route has changed once again, the New Orleans Police Department announced early on Mardi Gras morning. Due to incoming severe weather and high winds, Zulu and Rex changed their start times and routes on Monday.

Full schedule of parades Sign up for our Newsletters This year weather concerns bumped parade times up from their normal schedule. Zulu began at 6:30 a.m. followed by Rex at 9:30 a.m. Both rolled on shortened routes.

Carl Dean, Dolly Parton's devoted husband of nearly 60 years who avoided the spotlight and inspired her timeless hit “Jolene,” died Monday. According to a statement provided to The Associated Press by Parton's publicist, Dean died in Nashville, Tennessee.
