The Phoenix Suns have gutted their NBA Draft capital so much over recent years that fans would be forgiven if they forgot about this year's first-round pick. The Suns will be selecting 29th in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft.

The Suns started this past season with Jusuf Nurkic at center. He was acquired in a trade that sent Deandre Ayton to the Portland Trail Blazers before the 2023-24 season. They later traded Nurkic to Charlotte and landed Nick Richards from the Hornets in a separate deal.

The Arizona Republic asked fans to offer their opinions about the current state of the Phoenix Suns. There was not a great deal of optimism.

This is a wait-and-see approach. Let Durant start the year, showcase his value, and pivot if the team under performs. The risk here is obvious. Durant’s value could dip due to injury or regression, but the potential return could increase if contenders get desperate.

Fizdale, who was also one of several finalists for the Suns' head coach opening before it went to Ott, was previously the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies (2016-17) and New York Knicks (2018-19) and also has several years of assistant coaching experience.
