Katherine Legge, who became the first female racer to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2018, says she learned a lot in her debut, which amounted to a, "Baptism by fire," and hopes she has the opportunity to return despite crashing out of the race.

“It was baptism by fire,” Legge told Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass after exiting the one-mile track’s infield care center. “I think there’s a lot of positives to take from it. Obviously, there were mistakes made, but I learned so much. Hopefully, I get to come back.”

Katherine Legge was the first woman to race in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2018 and her time in Phoenix unfortunately ended early. Legge had ups and downs this weekend but was able to learn quickly prior to her spin and wreck in the last stage.
