Owners are abandoning Tesla, and angry people are taking their frustrations out on the symbol of unelected Elon's "breaking things" approach to the United States government: his poorly engineered cars.

Tesla owners have “rebranded” their vehicles in an effort to avoid vandalism due to Elon Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration. In a post on the sub-Reddit "Mildly Interesting," photos of Tesla vehicles feature other car brand names.

It appears that Tesla sales are slumping in the U.S., too. According to the California New Car Dealers Association, Tesla registered fewer cars in the state in all four quarters of 2024. California is the largest EV market in the U.S. Tesla sales fell by 8 percent in the fourth quarter and 12 percent for the whole year.

Tesla's sales of its China-made electric vehicles dropped 49.2% in February from a year earlier to 30,688 cars, the lowest since August 2022, as the U.S. automaker faces pressure from Chinese rivals in a relentless smart EV price war.

Amid increased competition and concern over its CEO's actions, Tesla has seen its sales decline in several critical markets.
