Only a few big names came off the free-agency big board during the annual MLB winter meetings, with Kyle Schwarber re-signing with the Phillies, Edwin Díaz joining the Dodgers, and Pete Alonso signing with the Orioles.
The Yankees did not acquire any veteran pitchers during the Winter Meetings. Max Fried, who finished fourth in AL Cy Young voting, is the early favorite to start Opening Day in Cole and Rodón’s absences.
