It was a huge day for Royals rookie Jac Caglianone, who had the first multi-hit game of his career with four hits, including a fourth-inning double that reached an exit velocity of 113.6 mph.
Tim Elko hit a two-run homer, Adrian Houser pitched six strong innings and the Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals 4-1 on Saturday. Chase Meidroth also went deep for the White Sox, who have won three straight for the second time this season.
The newly added Sox lefty arrived at Rate Field after the game started and was pitching by the fourth inning after riding in from Wisconsin.
The White Sox placed left-handed pitcher Jared Shuster on the 15-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Shuster, 26, has a blister on his left hand, and his stint is retroactive to Thursday.
