Americans planned demonstrations against President Donald Trump across the U.S. on Saturday as a counterpoint to the 200,000 people expected to attend the military parade in Washington.
Over 90 "No Kings" protests were taking place Saturday, June 14, across New York state as millions across the country are expected to take part in a "nationwide day of defiance."
WNYT reports Catherine Benincasa, 32, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was arrested Saturday after an argument escalated during an anti-Trump rally in Warrensburg, N.Y. She’s been charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The No Kings Day of Defiance protests will happen during the military parade in Washington on Saturday for the Army’s 250th anniversary — which coincides with Trump’s birthday.
The demonstrations follow more than a week of large-scale protests in Los Angeles against Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown and his decision to deploy the military there. Protesters gathered in Liberty Plaza outside of the Georgia State Capitol in Downtown Atlanta.
