The NFL will likely announce the date and time for the Broncos-Chargers game during or just after SNF on Sunday.
The Packers clinched a playoff spot with the Lions' loss to the Vikings on Christmas. Detroit was eliminated with the defeat, and now Green Bay is competing with Chicago for the NFC North.
The Los Angeles Chargers have clinched a playoff berth, but they also control their own destiny for the AFC West. If they win their final two games, then they'll jump the Denver Broncos. L.A. would own the tiebreaker against Denver by virtue of a 2-0 head-to-head record.
The Chargers are allowing 20.1 points per game to opponents and the Broncos are averaging 23.9 PPG. Combined and divided by two, that's 22 points Denver's way. That same formula for the Broncos' defense and L.A.'s offense spits out 21.3 points for the Chargers. Fans in Denver will hope the math adds up to a Broncos win in Week 18.
More than half of the NFL's 14 playoff spots were clinched in Week 16. Four spots in the NFC were clinched by the Seahawks, Eagles, Bears and 49ers. Over in the AFC, the Patriots clinched on Sunday night. Then, with the Colts' loss on Monday night, the Jaguars, Chargers and Bills all clinched a spot.
