Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton says it was "heartbreaking" to watch his club trade away almost 40 percent of the roster ahead of the 2025 MLB trade deadline, per Bobby Nightengale of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

All told, the Twins made nine deals this week, sending out 10 major-league players, which represented nearly 40% of their roster. Among them, star shortstop Carlos Correa waived his no-trade clause to return to the Houston Astros in the team’s most shocking move at the deadline.

A full-fledged meet and greet was the first order of business for the Minnesota Twins upon their arrival at the ballpark Friday. Making nine trades and jettisoning nearly 40% of their team before the deadline the previous day meant there were plenty of new faces in the visiting clubhouse when the Twins began their three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians.
