Bills General Manager Brandon Beane said this week that the team wants to have running back James Cook on the team beyond the 2025 season, but making that happen will require the use of a franchise tag or an agreement on a long-term contract.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook is seeking his next contract with the Bills. He is expecting to be paid like the upper-tier RBs in the NFL. Currently, he is holding out for a new contract and is not present at voluntary workouts to gain leverage on negotiations to ink an extension.

The Buffalo Bills are doing whatever it takes to get over the hump in the AFC playoffs. Buffalo added a ton of defensive talent during the 2025 NFL Draft. Hopefully those investments will pay off during the playoffs next season.
