Bangladesh has doubled down on refusing to go to India for the T20 World Cup despite being told it will be replaced if it doesn’t change its mind.
The inclusion of two umpires comes after their country's ouster from the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. BCB and the Bangladesh government cited security risks and held firm on not travelling to India for the tournament. ICC pulled the plug, replacing Bangladesh with Scotland for the competition.
Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi’s stubbornness could damage the health of cricket in the country for a long time, with Bangladesh ironically in line to replace Pakistan at the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh says 'no security risks'; clears shooting team for India travel amid T20 World Cup row
Bangladesh's shooting team has been cleared to compete in the Asian Rifle and Pistol Championships in India, despite the nation recently citing security concerns to withdraw its cricket team from the T20 World Cup.
While the T20 showpiece will be held in venues across India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, the shooting event will take place at the Dr Karni Singh Range here from February 2 to 14, with 17 countries sending more than 300 shooters. Bangladesh will field two rifle shooters, who will compete in a total of three events.
Bangladesh was replaced by Scotland in the T20 World Cup on Saturday for refusing to play in tournament co-host India. The Bangladesh Cricket Board wanted its games shifted to co-host Sri Lanka due to security concerns but the International Cricket Council rejected the request and said there were no security threats in India against Bangladesh.
The threat of Pakistan boycotting the ICC T20 World Cup seems to have dissipated, but with a decision set to be made over the weekend, the ICC and BCCI will be on high alert. | Cricket
