There are a total of eight episodes in Alien: Earth Season 1. New episodes will roll out on FX and Hulu on Tuesdays at 8 PM ET from now through Tuesday, September 23. Ridley Scott’s “Alien” franchise has landed on TV with “Alien: Earth,” a prequel series set two years before the original space horror movie. It follows a brand new cast full of humans, synths, Xenomorphs and more as a group of soldiers investigate a crashed ship on Earth and discover some terrifying secrets inside.

When we sat down with Alien: Earth creator and showrunner Noah Hawley, he got the memo about the one-word answer. Not only that, but the Fargo creator also expanded on that sentiment to give us a brilliant tease for what’s to come in the remaining six episodes:

The series by creator Noah Hawley is described as a spin-off to the original Ridley Scott-directed film, " Alien ," from 1979. The film follows a space crew aboard the starship, Nostromo, who are on their journey back home when they receive a distress call from an alien vessel.

For Hawley, overlaying Peter Pan onto Alien: Earth ‘s science fiction made sense because of the idea of trapping children’s minds in immortal bodies that were created, and ruled over, by a literal boy genius. Moreover, because Barrie’s work isn’t quite as anodyne and sweet as Disney’s animated film.

Alien: Earth has captivated both critics and fans by revealing a previously unheard-of new vulnerability in the Xenomorph.
