The USC Trojans football program was placed on a one-year probation and handed a $50,000 fine for violating NCAA rules. Coach Lincoln Riley addressed the ruling when he spoke with the media on Tuesday.

USC was placed on one year of probation and fined $50,000 after an NCAA investigation found that the football program exceeded the permissible number of countable coaches by six during two academic years from 2022-23.

Southern California's football program has been fined $50,000 and placed on probation for one year by the NCAA because of multiple violations of coaching staff rules over two seasons. The NCAA and USC announced Tuesday they reached a settlement in the case.
