SALT LAKE CITY – The Phoenix Suns stormed all the way back from a 20-point deficit to force overtime, but fell to the Utah Jazz, 138-134, before a sellout crowd of 18,186, Monday, Oct. 27, at Delta Center. Keyonte George put the Jazz (2-1) up for good, 136-134, with 40.2 seconds left.
The Phoenix Suns aren't going to be able to establish anything in a new era if they continue playing a sloppy brand of basketball and continue to get unrecognizable performances from their star.
Jaylen Wells is in his second NBA season, and he’s shown promise already. The youngster averaged 10.4 points per night in his rookie campaign, making 74 starts in 79 appearances. Wells is an important player for the Memphis Grizzlies' future, but his total is too high for my liking this evening.
Booker paced the Suns with a game-high 32 points, with 29 coming in the second half, while Morant scored 28 in leading Memphis. Mark Williams posted a second straight 20-point double-double, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds in his first start with the Suns.
Target Lauri Markkanen, De'Andre Hunter & Trey Murphy III for tonight's player prop picks as the NBA Cup gets underway on Friday, October 31.
BOTTOM LINE: Phoenix aims to break its four-game slide when the Suns take on Utah. Phoenix finished 36-46 overall and 22-30 in Western Conference action last season. The Suns averaged 7.2 steals, 4.8 blocks and 13.2 turnovers per game last season.
The Phoenix Suns suffer their first loss of the 2025-26 season against the Los Angeles Clippers to begin a three-game road trip.
