The free education and training program, which serves 417 at-risk young adults in the Garden State and thousands nationally, will shut down by June 30.

As the Hubert Humphrey Job Corps Center in Saint Paul prepares to close its doors, dozens of young adults are facing an uncertain future. The closure leaves many without housing, education, or other skills needed to succeed in the workforce.

The Cascades Job Corps center currently houses more than 250 students, about 60 of which would be homeless without the program, Watson told The Herald in June 3 interview.
