On Monday, officers found Herrera near the 2000 block of E. Clinton St. in Hobbs where he was placed under arrest.

The Hobbs Police Department arrested 27-year-old Ubaldo Herrera of Lovington, NM, and charged with Murder in connection with the shooting death of 26-year-old Jonathan Losoya on Monday.

HOBBS, N.M. — The Hobbs Police Department (HPD) has arrested an August 2024 murder suspect Monday after following multiple leads and conducting interviews, according to a news release from HPD Public Information Officer Reanna Alarcon.

According to the department, Astorga has a long criminal history including violating his probation multiple times, theft charges and battery charges.

Police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing 26-year-old man in Hobbs back in August. According to Hobbs police, Ubaldo Herrera shot and killed 26-year-old Jonathan Losoya. Last week, police obtained a warrant for Herrera’s arrest.
