NASA has announced an asteroid that is heading this way, has a greater chance of hitting the Earth than initially thought. The US based space administration body had initially said it had more than one per cent chance of hitting Earth in 2032.

An asteroid first observed in late December 2024 is on track to pass by or collide with Earth in December 2032.

The ‘city killer’ asteroid (possibly) heading our way might spare us and slam into the Moon instead, scientists said. The space rock known as 2024 YR4 has a 2.1% chance of hitting Earth based on current observations.
