As a late-round or waiver-wire RB (Ciely’s RB58), Ekeler still provides some FLEX upside at his price. RB Brian Robinson Jr. (11.41 PPR points per game in 2024) could lose a touch here and there — though nothing as substantial as what Ekeler stands to lose — and should remain in the fringe-RB2/RB3 territory.

Samuel's weight was an issue when he arrived in Santa Clara, Calif. in 2019 and it was problematic last season, his worst as a 49er.

With the exit of Samuel, the status of Brandon Aiyuk has become even more crucial for San Francisco as it looks to tinker with its receiving corps. Aiyuk is still recuperating from ACL and MCL injuries, which limited him to just seven games this season after signing a four-year, $120 million extension in August.
