Haider Ackermann and Julian Klausner opened new chapters at Tom Ford and Dries Van Noten, while Alaia showed at its new atelier space, a setting that emphasised the impeccable craftsmanship of the collection.
In Paris this week, those designers were Haider Ackermann at Tom Ford; Julian Klausner, the righthand to Dries Van Noten who now leads the label following Van Noten’s retirement last year; and Sarah Burton, the longtime McQueen designer who is now at Givenchy.
The first was Julian Klausner’s excellent collection for Dries Van Noten, and the other was from Haider Ackermann at Tom Ford. Haider Ackermann is a designer’s designer. Karl Lagerfeld once said that he’d ultimately choose Ackermann to replace him at Chanel.
