The San Jose Sharks’ extreme roster makeover continued Thursday night with another major trade as they sent top-pair defenseman Jake Walman to the Edmonton Oilers for a conditional 2026 first-round draft pick and forward Carl Berglund.
The Edmonton Oilers are now right up against the trade deadline, and are still pursuing one major addition for their team with their top six forward group.
The arrival of Walman fixes Edmonton's biggest priority ahead of the deadline, reported to be the addition of a defenseman. It gives the Oilers a versatile option for their top four, joining Evan Bouchard, Mattias Ekholm, and Darnell Nurse.
