A Lithuanian man who was attempting to row from San Diego to Brisbane in order to raise awareness for Ukraine was rescued in the Pacific Ocean by the Australian Navy Sunday after he ran into a tropical cyclone.

Australia is open to requests to take part in peacekeeping operations in Ukraine, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, reaffirming his support for Kyiv as it faces growing criticism from the Trump administration.

U.S. security ally Australia, which has provided A$1.5 billion in support to Ukraine in its war with Russia, said on Thursday that Moscow was the aggressor in the conflict and it must be resolved on Kyiv's terms.
