The Steelers’ 28-15 win over Miami produced a rare NFL first and boosted Pittsburgh’s playoff chances as the season winds down.

While 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers was channeling his prime at wintry Acrisure Stadium by completing 23 of 27 passes for 224 yards and two scores, a defense playing without superstar outside linebacker T.J. Watt overwhelmed Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa during a third quarter in which Miami ran six plays and lost 20 yards in the process.

Much has been made of a struggling Pittsburgh Steelers offense throughout a tepid 2025 season. There were no problems Monday night.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed RB Trey Sermon to their practice squad ahead of the Week 16 matchup vs. the Detroit Lions.

Sermon was a former star running back at Oklahoma and Ohio State. When he came out during the 2021 NFL Draft, Sermon thought the Steelers would draft him, but that was before they landed Najee Harris in the first round.

A handful of bargain-bin acquisitions have made all the difference as Pittsburgh has taken control of the AFC North.

Miami has won four in a row since losing to Baltimore back in Week 9, and is now on the fringes of the playoff race in a season that started off in disastrous fashion. The Dolphins have been running the ball like crazy during their winning streak, while also turning over the opposing team multiple times in each of those games.

Plumlee signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of UCF because they promised him a chance to play quarterback. Throughout the rest of the training camp, Plumlee would get time as a quarterback, work as a kick returner, and plug-in as a wide receiver.

The division-leading Steelers go for their 23rd straight home win on "Monday Night Football." The Dolphins are on a four-game win streak.
