Yu Darvish pitched seven impressive innings for his first victory of the season and Gavin Sheets hit a two-run home run for the San Diego Padres, who beat the NL East-leading New York Mets 5-0 for a three-game sweep.

Darvish was in control from the start, allowing two hits, striking out seven and taking just 76 pitches to get through seven innings, and the Padres offense continued to surge in a 5-0 victory over the Mets.

Padres starter Yu Darvish made history by winning his 204th career game in both MLB and in the Nippon Professional Baseball league in Japan.
