Shohei Ohtani returned to pitching for the first time since August 2023 and hit 100mph in his debut on the mound for the LA Dodgers.

The former interpreter for Shohei Ohtani has started his federal prison sentence in Pennsylvania. Ippei Mizuhara is currently at Federal Correctional Institution Allenwood Low, ESPN reports. Mizuhara was sentenced to 57 months in prison after stealing nearly $17 million from Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani to pay off gambling debts.

Dodgers are easing Ohtani back into pitching, essentially completing his rehab while in the majors. “There’s no playbook for this,” said GM Brandon Gomes.

Ippei Mizuhara has officially begun his federal prison sentence. Mizuhara, the disgraced former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, is now in federal prison in Pennsylvania, Tisha Thompson of ESPN reported Monday.
