Gaethje (25-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) was knocked out in the last second of his BMF title fight against Max Holloway last April. Although he was down on the scorecards, Gaethje saw the fight differently when he watched it back for the first time.

In the main event, Magomed Ankalaev snatched the light heavyweight title away from Alex Pereira by executing a smart gameplan to earn a unanimous decision victory. Prior to that fight Pereira was undefeated in the 205-pound division and had won each of his last four fights via knockout.

Justin Gaethje achieved a unanimous win against Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313, marking his comeback after a TKO defeat to Max Holloway. Fiziev replaced Dan Hooker due to injury, providing tough competition despite a lower rank.
