There will be no compensation for customers in Northern Ireland affected by power outages following Storm Éowyn.

The Department for the Economy has confirmed that those who were without power due to Storm Éowyn will not be compensated.

There are “no routes” for Northern Ireland Electricity Networks to make compensation payments to customers who lost power during Storm Eowyn, a working group has said. Almost 326,000 homes and businesses lost power as a result of the storm in January.

NIE Networks has confirmed it will not be making compensation payments to customers affected by lengthy power cuts as a result of Storm Éowyn.
