Hamilton County remains under a level 2 snow emergency, meaning only those who consider it necessary should be out on the roads. Butler, Clermont and Warren counties have all reduced to a level 1 snow emergency, meaning no roads are closed but unnecessary travel is discouraged.

The winter storm is moving offshore, but much of the eastern part of the country faces ice, bitterly cold temperatures and wind chill.

Forecasters expected most of the snow accumulation to occur the night of Jan. 24 into Jan. 25, but more precipitation is expected throughout the day.

KENTUCKY, USA — A large winter storm is bringing snow to Kentucky and southern Indiana. The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the area from 1 a.m. on Saturday to Monday at 7 a.m.

The most famous blizzard of course was in February of 1978. Snow fell for two days, piling up more than 30 inches in some areas and blowing snow created drifts much deeper than that. Cars and trucks were stranded on major highways and dozens of people lost their lives.
