The Packers will wear their winter warning all-white uniforms tonight, while the Steelers uniforms are throwing it back to 1933.
After defeating the throwback-clad Pittsburgh Steelers last week, the Green Bay Packers will be wearing their own throwback uniforms on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. For the first time, the Packers will don the "1923 Classic" uniform, a look featuring navy and gold uniforms and a replica leather brown helmet.
These jerseys honor the Packers rich history where the team first became publicly owned back in 1923. A moment so important, Packers Historian Cliff Christl says the team couldn’t even exist if they didn’t allow the community to buy stocks. But in honoring the past, even that had mixed reactions amongst fans.
The Green Bay Packers will wear their 1923 classic uniforms for the first time when they play the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 2 at Lambeau Field.
At home at Lambeau Field, the Packers will wear their traditional home uniform, featuring gold helmets with the iconic "G" logo, green jerseys, gold pants and green socks. The visiting Eagles will counter with alternate black helmets, white jerseys, black pants and white socks.
The Pittsburgh Steelers decided to wear an unpopular jersey before they played the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.
This will be the first year the Steelers will wear their new gold throwback uniforms. Inspired by their 1933 uniforms from the inaugural season of the Steelers, it is accompanied by a gold helmet that gives the Steelers their second helmet in rotation.
