Tilak Varma made his promotion to number three count by hitting a terrific unbeaten 107 off 56 balls – his maiden century in T20Is - as India posted a massive 219/6 against South Africa in the third game at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Varma, who batted at No. 4 in Durban and Gqueberha scoring 33 and 20, respectively, went in at No. 3 in Centurion on Wednesday

Speaking about the match and about his physical state after hitting the ground with his head on attempting a catch, Tilak said, “I am okay. It was a difficult chance but I am happy we won the game. I cannot put it in words. It was my dream to play for the country and the hundred came at the right time when the team needed it.”

Tilak Varma got to his maiden hundred in the shortest format in 51 balls on November 13. He became the second-youngest Indian to hit a century in T20Is.
