The New York Yankees opted out of a potential Eugenio Suárez blockbuster deal and the Arizona Diamondbacks eventually traded him to the Seattle Mariners.

"Trade talks between the Yankees and Diamondbacks over Eugenio Suárez stalled after Arizona asked for a MLB player, an upper-level prospect (AA/AAA), and at least one lower-level prospect, per industry sources," Romero wrote in a post on X/Twitter.

The Seattle Mariners are one step closer to getting Eugenio Suarez. That's because on Friday, the New York Yankees completed a trade for a different third baseman. Colorado's Ryan McMahon is going to the Bronx. Suarez now has one less suitor.
