Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Erik Johnson is heading back to the Colorado Avalanche, where he spent 13 of his 17 NHL seasons, and where he won a Stanley Cup in 2022.

The Philadelphia Flyers made three trades at the NHL trade deadline, including shipping out one of their team leaders. The Flyers traded center Scott Laughton, defenseman Erik Johnson and winger Andrei Kuzmenko in three separate moves Friday.

The Colorado Avalanche has traded for 10 players since late November, but only one had his own bed waiting for him.
