Lando Norris apologised to McLaren and his championship-leading teammate Oscar Piastri on Sunday for a Canadian Grand Prix collision he said broke the first rule of racing.

The Mercedes driver drove a flawless race to win the Canadian Grand Prix, while Lando Norris crashed out late while battling teammate Oscar Piastri.

Earlier, in FP1, Charles Leclerc smashed the front corner of his SF-25, with the Ferrari gun unable to return in FP2 after his incident on turn three. Then in FP2, Lance Stroll broke his front left wheel after coming in contact with the wall in his return from a wrist injury.

Oscar Piastri could stand alone after Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix as the only Australian to win six or more races in a single Formula 1 season, but the 24-year-old has bigger and better statistics in his sights.
