Your OnePlus Watch won’t get Wear OS updates for as long as you think
OnePlus says the OnePlus Watch 2 and 3 will get three years of OS and security updates. However, the company's promised timeline creates more confusion than it answers. The company seems to be counting the Wear OS build the watch is launching with as one OS update.

OnePlus has confirmed a couple of less-than-ideal details about its update strategy for the Watch 2 and Watch 3.

More pertinently, OnePlus also says the Watch 2 and Watch 3 will get three years of software updates, but crucially not three versions of Wear OS. As such, OnePlus Watch 2 users can also expect a Wear OS 6 upgrade next year, while owners of the new OnePlus Watch 3 will get support all the way through Wear OS 7 in 2027.
