In January, the first major snow event of the year, temperatures were higher and the snow accumulation was over two times the amount this time around. Streets were still covered in snow, but because the area never experienced ice or extremely low temperatures, the City of Memphis road crews were able to clear roadways much easier.

Following the snow on Tuesday evening, there will be a cold front that comes into the area through Friday with temperatures only returning to above freezing on Saturday.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A winter storm will bring snow and sleet to the Memphis area on Tuesday night, February 18. Bitterly cold air will remain in place for the rest of the week.
