News of a surprise club coming out of nowhere to make an enquiry for Alexander Isak emerged after Liverpool's rejected bid. The saga involving the wantaway Swede has dominated headlines in recent times and on Friday, Liverpool finally tabled an offer for Isak following an initial approach.

Liverpool saw their reported £110 million bid for Newcastle ’s Alexander Isak refused this Friday, and seem unlikely to offer an improved bid. Though the offer is well below Newcastle’s £150 million valuation, ESPN report that the “nature” of the refusal suggests a renewed bid would be “pointless.”

Liverpool will not lodge a second bid for Alexander Isak after their initial offer of £120million was rejected by Newcastle. The Premier League champions were keen on landing the Swedish centre-forward despite splashing £69m on Hugo Ekitike, whom they beat Newcastle to the signing of last month.
