The bands have a long-standing connection dating back to 1977 when Cheap Trick opened for KISS on their “Love Gun Tour.” Cheap Trick also named dropped KISS in their 1978 hit “Surrender,” which includes the lyrics: “ Then I woke up, Mom and Dad are rollin’ on the couch / Rollin’ numbers, rock and rollin’, got my KISS records out .”
