Update: Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County at 5% containment
Gifford Fire initially started 3:44 p.m. Aug. 1 in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County, California. Since its discovery 27 hours ago, it has burned 30,519 acres. By Saturday evening, the fire crew effectively contained 5% of this fire. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.
