Molinar, a 26-year veteran of Fort Worth ISD, was appointed interim superintendent on Oct. 8, about a week after Superintendent Angélica Ramsey’s resignation. Tuesday’s 8-0 vote came nearly a month after the board voted to name Molinar the lone finalist for the job.

The Fort Worth ISD school board voted unanimously to remove the interim title from Karen Molinar, officially naming her superintendent. Molinar has spent 26 years working within the district.

In a unanimous vote Tuesday evening, the Fort Worth ISD board of trustees officially selected Dr. Karen Molinar for the superintendent position. Molinar, who has worked in the district for 27 years, served as interim superintendent following the resignation of former superintendent Dr.

Fort Worth ISD is reducing the number of schools on its list of possible closures . The district said it has to shut down several campuses to deal with a $17 million budget deficit and declining enrollment, and the options will continue to evolve throughout the process.

The meeting at Benbrook Middle-High School was the third community meeting this week about the district’s facilities master plan.
