The 2025 "Snow White" live-action remake is controversial, with critics saying Disney is "woke" for casting Rachel Zegler and cutting the dwarfs.

The live-action remake of Disney's Snow White has been met with its fair share of controversies ever since it was announced a few years ago. Starring Rachel Zegler as the titular role and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Snow White is slated to hit theaters on March 21, 2025 — despite much of the backlash Disney, Zegler and more have received.

The Colombian American actor, best known for her portrayal of Maria in the 2021 film adaptation of “West Side Story,” found herself the target of racist commentary after being cast as Snow White, described in the original fairy tale as having “skin as white as snow.”
