All-Star first baseman Pete Alonso tied Darryl Strawberry for the all-time lead in home runs in New York Mets history, and the legend loved it.

Darryl Strawberry has company atop the Mets’ all-time home run list. Pete Alonso blasted career homer No. 252 in the second inning on Saturday to tie Strawberry as the franchise’s all-time leader. The homer against the Brewers’ Tobias Myers was Alonso’s 26th this season.
