Meteorologists said the freezing rain is likely to turn to ice, which could make roads slick and cause havoc during Monday morning’s commute.
Connecticut residents are digging out Saturday morning after a storm dropped several inches of snow across the state.
Citing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, DOT shared that in 2022 “there were 498 fatal traffic crashes and an estimated 32,213 injury crashes that occurred when there was snow and/or sleet conditions at the time of the crash. CTDOT emphasizes that preparation is essential for safe winter driving.”
A snowstorm dumped several inches of snow across Connecticut Friday night into Saturday, causing flight cancellations and delays at Bradley International Airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport.
Snowfall in New York totaled around 4 inches, but short of what could have been the city’s biggest storm event in years.
