The Atlanta Braves will send right-hander Grant Holmes to the mound on Sunday afternoon in an effort to sweep their three-game series with the visiting Colorado Rockies.

With their 4-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, the Colorado Rockies surpassed the 1932 Boston Red Sox, who were 14-56, for the worst 70-game mark since 1901.

The Atlanta Braves started the weekend series on a high note after Friday night’s 12-4 defeat over the Colorado Rockies. Bryce Elder got the ball to start the game; he threw 3.1 mediocre innings and allowed each of Colorado’s runs. The Atlanta offense, however, finally came to life and put together a few crooked number innings.

The Atlanta Braves will have to wait a bit to see if they can handle the Rockies as expected on Saturday as we are in a rain delay.

Harris has homered in back-to-back games and will try to keep it going when the Braves host Colorado in the second contest of their three-game series on Saturday. Atlanta won the opener 12-4, with Harris hitting a game-tying three-run homer to fuel the comeback.

The latest evidence: The Rockies’ 12-4 loss to the Braves on Friday night at Truist Field, in which the Braves scored 11 runs in their last three at-bats. Consider: Colorado got an excellent start from German Marquez and ripped Atlanta pitching for 14 hits, on the road no less.
